Sci-Fi fanatics and conclave of passionate nerds, SpiceDAO, have acquired a true legendary artefact of the modern age, shelling out a massive $3 million dollars for an ultra-rare copy of Jodorowsky’s famed “Dune Bible”.
For those oblivious to the item’s significance, the mighty tome represents the dreams and ambitions of Alejandro Jodorowsky. Having accumulated a star-studded team of rockstars, artists and rockstar artists, the eccentric movie director needed to pitch his idea to the studios. So, to aid his endeavour he put all of his ideas in one herculean book, the Dune Bible. Alas, his grand plan was too risqué for Hollywood, and his dreams were dashed, resulting in the greatest movie never made.
As it turns out, this is not the end of the story, as SpiceDAO has designs to resurrect the project. To kick things off, SpiceDAO wants to make the book public and give fans a rare chance to see what is inside. Something that until now, has remained unattainable. Going forward, the team will investigate the limitations of copyright, and produced a range of content inspired by the book, while one idea flirts with an animated feature based on its contents, and another involve publishing its grandiose ideas.
A number of legal hurdles will need overcoming to bring these plans to reality. However, after raising a massive $12 million through its community, the project has a fair amount of firepower.
