Acclaimed musician M.I.A., is back with a second NFT drop. Earlier this year, she was one of the celebrities to join the space early on, auctioning off a collection called “NFT DANCE GARAGE” series on Foundation. Now, she is back with another special NFT auction on the platform.
The rapper is selling her latest hit ‘Babylon’ as an NFT. It was released together with an extended version of her 2010 mixtape Vicki Leekx and in support the Courage Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting and protecting whistleblowers. Winning bidders receive a mastered audio of songs and exclusive high-resolution, M.I.A.-directed videos. Fans can watch the ‘Babylon’ video below.
Her previous NFT drop celebrated her 25-year journey and experience as a visual and digital artist. The musician also launched a GoFund Me Page this year with the goal of raising more than $100,000 in support of those who have been heavily affected by multiple volcanic eruptions in Sri Lanka in April 2021.
M.I.A.’s last studio album was released in 2016, and despite her new releases, there hasn’t been any talk of a follow-up album launch just yet. However, the popular musician is set to headline the upcoming second edition of Just Like Heaven music festival next year.
