Billboard Magazine is collaborating with the World of Women (WoW) NFT collection to launch its first ever magazine cover NFTs. The collection is being curated to commemorate the 2022 Billboard Women in Music event and summit, and will host covers of three iconic female performers; Christina Aguilera, Madonna, and Mariah Carey.

The NFTs will follow the premise of the wider 10,000 asset WoW collection, that is, that they will each be a unique, 1-of-1 NFT. They will be auctioned on the FTX US NFT marketplace at a TBA date and price, with the profits from each sale going to a charity of each star’s choice. Xtina has opted for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Madonna has chosen the City of Joy charity, and Mariah Carey has chosen to donate the funds to a partnership between her own charity (Camp Mariah) and the Fresh Air Fund.

The lucky purchasers of the exclusive World of Women NFTs will also be given the opportunity to receive an all-expenses paid trip to next year’s Women in Music ceremony in LA, where they will walk down the red carpet, and meet Yam Karkai, founder of WoW and the artist behind the NFTs.

Karkai has since spoken on what the A-list-infused empowering endeavour with Billboard means to the organisation:

“It’s an absolute honour and dream-come-true to participate in such a landmark moment with an incredibly inspirational, diverse, and influential group of women… There is no better platform to help our community grow and our voices be heard. I cannot wait to be a part of such an influential and motivational collection of female leaders and am thrilled that Billboard is also enabling our community to play a special role”.
